Get entered in a contest to join a shark research project

If you look forward all year to Shark Week, you’ll want to enter a sweepstakes going on right now. You might get a chance to live shark week, rather than just watch it.

There’s a sweepstakes going on right now you’ll want to get in on if you’re a Shark Week fan. Instead of just sitting in your living room, watching all the shark-related programming, if you’re lucky, you might get a chance to actually take part in a shark research project.

Costa Sunglasses, Yeti coolers and Southern Tide fishing apparel are teaming up to give one lucky winner and a friend the chance to join a trip to Nova Scotia, Canada, with Ocearch Research to help conduct an actual shark research project in the Atlantic Ocean. The winner, as well as 10 first-prize winners, will also get a whole bunch of Costa, Yeti and Southern Tide gear.

It’s the chance at a trip of a lifetime. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re not afraid of a little hard work, long days out on the open ocean, and being within arm’s reach of real live sharks, get your name in the hat now.

You can enter the contest by visiting the Ocearch.org website, or you can find a link to the entry form on my blog at CowboyStateNews.com.

You won’t be featured on this year’s Shark Week programming, which kicked off Sunday on the Discovery Channel. The deadline for entries is August 5, and the research trip will take place sometime after that. You’ll get your own Shark Week later in the year if you win, and maybe you’ll get to watch yourself during next year’s Shark Week.

Chances of winning are pretty slim, but you can’t win if you don’t try. And if you like sharks, you don’t want to miss your chance to try for this incredible opportunity.
